In late 2018, Poor Bishop Hooper was commissioned to write three original songs by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. The music was devoted to, inspired by, and based on a handful of Thomas Hart Benton works in the museum’s collection - Persephone, Crapshooters, and Hollywood. They were debuted and recorded live at a performance for a select audience in the gallery, next to where the works hang.
