For centuries the church has been celebrating Advent both with thankfulness for the first coming of Christ as a child, and anticipation for His return. Firstborn attempts to help its listeners do both of those things better. A collection of art (music, illustration, video, and writing) Firstborn uses the familiar tradition of Advent’s weekly themes as its guide, but embraces these topics in not-so-common ways. Beginning with a look at Jesus long before his birth, then focusing on the prophetic fulfillment, miraculous encounters, and often utter mystery that surrounds his incarnation, Firstborn takes shape as a powerful avenue for the people of God to encounter, appreciate, and meditate on who He truly is during the Christmas season.
